Common questions related to 2FA security

Modified on:

What is a two-factor authentication (2FA)?

The 2FA, also known as two-step verification or two-factor authentication, is a security process in which users provide two different authentication factors to verify their identity. It can be as simple as a number to access your account, very similar to the number provided by a bank token.

It is very important to achieve greater security of your funds at Bitso. To protect your balance, we invite you to add a 2FA authentication to your account.

But why should you use 2FA?

Strong authentication is necessary to improve the cybersecurity of online accounts and services, like your Bitso account. The protection provided by passwords alone, without a 2FA process, is weak as they can be guessed, forged and, once stolen, tested on multiple accounts until one works. 2FA authentication adds an additional layer of security to the process of accessing your Bitso account. To enable 2FA security on your Bitso account, you can download a two-step verification app on your phone via any of the app stores.
