Which rates does Bitso+ offer?

Modified on:

Here at Bitso we are committed to providing you the best benefits and usability of crypto but without compromising the security of your funds. When it comes to generating yields with fixed rates, it is important to mitigate risks by using a responsible approach.

The approach and risk-mitigating philosophy behind Bitso+ is composed of a tiered yield system. Below we explain exactly how it works.

Asset Tier Balance Annual rate
USD stablecoins

From 0 to 1,000 USD

Above 1,000 USD

From 0 to 0.1 BTC

Above 0.1 BTC

Each tier reflects a specific part of your crypto in Bitso+. To make it clear, here is an example:
Let's say that Andrea deposits 20,000 USD stablecoins in her Bitso account.

  • For her first 1,000 USD stablecoins, she will receive weekly yields on a 8% annual basis.
  • And for the remaining 19,000 USD stablecoins, she will receive weekly yields on a 5% annual basis.

Later, she decides to convert some of her USD into 0.1 BTC, and to buy another 0.1 BTC with her local currency, totalling 0.2 BTC.

  • Now, for the first 0.1 BTC, she will receive weekly yields on a 2% annual rate;
  • And for the other 0.1 BTC in her account, she will receive weekly yields on a 0.1% annual rate.

So, for the first 1,000 USD stablecoins and 0.1 BTC in your account, you'll continue to receive yields based on tier 1 no matter how much your balance grows

IMPORTANT: These new rates will be valid from August 8th and on. To learn more about the rates change, read this article: Why are the rates in Bitso+ changing?
