You can cancel your Stocks account at any time without affecting your Bitso account. Here is how the process works.
How to cancel your Stocks account
Cancellation is handled by our support team. To start the process:
- Go to Settings, then Account, then Stocks in the app.
- Select "Close account" and confirm your request.
- Our team processes the cancellation and notifies you when it's complete.
Before you cancel, make sure you have no open positions and no balance in your Stocks account.
What happens to your shares when you cancel
Your Stocks account must have no open positions and no balance before cancellation can proceed. If you try to cancel while you still hold positions, the app shows a message and blocks the cancellation until you resolve it.
Can you keep using Bitso after canceling
Yes. Canceling your Stocks account does not affect your Bitso account. You can keep using every other product and service in the app as normal.
Can you reopen a Stocks account later
No. Once your Stocks account is canceled, you cannot open a new one with the same email address. Keep this in mind before you start the cancellation process.
Accessing your documents after cancellation
After cancellation, you can still access your account statements and tax documents. Go to Settings, then Account, then Stocks, then Documents and reports.
Didn't work? Here's what to do
If the app blocks your cancellation, the most common cause is an open position or a remaining balance in your Stocks account. Close any open positions and withdraw or transfer your balance, then try the cancellation again. If the request still doesn't go through, contact our support team.
