How to deposit Argentine pesos (ARS) on Bitso?

Modified on:

You can deposit Argentine pesos to your Bitso account using your CVU (Clave Virtual Uniforme), a 22-digit code that lets you send money from your bank or payment app to your Bitso account.

Before you start

  • Check that your account level allows the amount you want to deposit. Check your account level.
  • The name on your bank account must match the name on your Bitso account exactly. If you deposit from someone else's account, the money is returned to you.

How to deposit from the Bitso app

  1. Open the Bitso app and tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
  2. Tap "Deposit" among the quick actions on your account.
  3. Select "Argentine pesos" as the currency you want to receive.
  4. You will see your available deposit limit for this month and the deposit details: your CVU and the beneficiary name.
  5. Copy the CVU and, in your online banking, enter it as the destination to confirm the transfer.

If you deposit from Mercado Pago, use the CVU or alias of the account you are sending from.

How to deposit from the Bitso website

  1. Log in to bitso.com from a computer and go to the Wallet section.
  2. Click "Deposit", either from the buttons at the top or from the "Argentine pesos" row in the currency table.
  3. In the window that opens, choose "Bank transfer" under the Argentine peso options.
  4. You will see your available deposit limit for this month, how much you have already used, your CVU, and the beneficiary name.
  5. Copy the CVU and, in your online banking or Mercado Pago, enter it as the destination to confirm the transfer, always from an account under your own name.

Bitso only provides a CVU, not a CBU. Check with your bank whether it allows transfers to a CVU.

How long the deposit takes

Most deposits are credited immediately. In some cases it can take up to 24 business hours, not counting weekends or holidays.

Fees

Bitso does not charge a fee for ARS deposits made through COELSA or Bitso Transfer.

If your deposit is not credited

Your account has deposit and withdrawal limits based on your account level. If the deposited amount exceeds that limit, the full amount is returned automatically to your bank account.

Other reasons include a missing CVU on your account or an error from your bank. If more than 24 business hours have passed and the money still has not arrived, contact our support team.

When you contact them, include:
