Pix MED (Mecanismo Especial de Devolução) is a mechanism from the Central Bank of Brazil that lets you request your money back after a fraudulent or mistaken Pix transfer. Bitso works with the Central Bank of Brazil through this mechanism to try to recover your funds. Pix is Brazil's instant transfer system, available only for transactions made within Brazil.
To open a Pix claim in the Bitso app:
- Go to the Pix section in the app.
- Select "Pix claim."
- Choose the transaction you want to report.
- Follow the steps in the app and provide the requested information.
You can only report Pix transactions made in the last 80 days. Transactions older than that are not eligible for this process.
