How to send crypto from Bitso.com

Modified on:

You can send digital assets to another wallet directly from the Bitso website. Here's how it works.

Before you send

  • Log in to your Bitso account with your username and password.
  • Crypto transfers need confirmations on the blockchain network. This can take time, sometimes several hours, and even longer if the network is busy.
  • Once your transfer is on the blockchain, it can't be cancelled, undone, or sped up. Bitso doesn't control this confirmation process.
  • If your withdrawal shows as "pending," that's normal. It changes to "confirmed" once it has the required confirmations.

How to send your crypto

You'll need the destination wallet address, a long combination of numbers and letters.

  1. Go to Bitso.com, on the main screen select Send, then Cryptocurrency, and choose the asset and network you want to use.
  2. Enter the destination wallet address and the amount you want to send, then select Send.
  3. Confirm the transaction with your transaction PIN.

If you're sending XRP to another exchange, you'll almost always need a Destination tag. If you're sending it to a cold wallet (one not connected to the internet), you may not need one, but these addresses usually require a minimum of 20 to 25 XRP to activate.

For Litecoin, Bitso only accepts Segwit addresses that start with "M." If your address is Native Segwit (starts with "ltc1"), you won't be able to withdraw from Bitso.

After you send

Save the transaction hash or ID, a unique code that identifies each crypto transfer, similar to a tracking number. You can find it in your app's history.

To see all your account activity, go to Profile, then History. You can also download your deposits and withdrawals as a CSV file.

Didn't work? Here's what to do

Always double-check the destination address before sending, at least the first and last 4 characters. If you send your crypto to the wrong address, that amount can't be recovered, neither by you nor by Bitso, because the transaction is permanently confirmed on the blockchain.

If you were sending XRP and the withdrawal wasn't processed, check that you included the Destination tag correctly. If you were sending Litecoin and the withdrawal was blocked before leaving your account, confirm the destination address is Segwit (starts with "M") and not Native Segwit.
