To deposit cryptocurrency into your Bitso account, you need the deposit address for that specific coin. Follow these steps to get it and complete your deposit safely.
How to get your deposit address
- Log in to your account, go to the Wallet section, select the cryptocurrency you want to deposit, and tap Deposit.
- Copy the address that appears, or scan the QR code from the wallet you are sending from.
Choose the correct network
Most cryptocurrencies can move on more than one network. Before you send anything, check that the network selected in Bitso matches the network of the wallet you are sending from. Sending to the wrong network is the most common way to lose crypto permanently. Bitso cannot recover funds sent this way.
Depositing XRP
XRP deposits need an extra field called a destination tag. Enter it along with the address when you send XRP from another exchange. Without the destination tag, your funds may not be credited to your account.
If you are sending XRP from a personal wallet instead of an exchange, you may not need a destination tag, but the address must hold a minimum amount of XRP, generally between 20 and 25 XRP, before it becomes active.
Verify your deposit address before sending
Compare the first four and last four characters of the address in Bitso with the address in the wallet you are sending from. Do this every time, even if you have deposited before.
Once a transfer enters the network, it cannot be canceled, reversed, or sped up. Bitso does not control network confirmations and cannot intervene once a transfer is sent.
Save the transaction hash from the wallet or exchange you send from. Our support team may ask for it to check your transfer. A transaction hash is a long mix of numbers and letters, for example: 48fd533ba8d6036b20ca12bd1421b9304eecd00f3aj4aca6cd7fe8a9845ec53d.

Your deposit shows as pending until the network confirms it enough times. The number of confirmations needed and the time it takes vary by cryptocurrency and by how busy the network is, so a pending deposit can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
- Track your transaction using a public block explorer and your transaction hash, such as blockchain.com/explorer.
- If you selected the wrong network when depositing, contact our support team with your transaction hash so they can review whether the funds can be recovered.
- If your deposit still hasn't arrived after the confirmation time you'd expect for that cryptocurrency, contact our support team with your transaction hash.
