When your transaction is processing, it means the order has been sent to the market but hasn't executed yet. This can happen for a few reasons:
- Market hours: For some stocks, if you placed the order outside regular trading hours, it will process once the market opens. However, there are more than 2000 stocks that allow buying and selling during overnight hours.
- Automatic limit order: If your order has an automatic limit, it will only execute once the stock reaches the price you set. If it doesn't reach that price, the order might not complete.
- Transaction volume: Sometimes, if your order is for a very large amount and the market is busy, there can be a slight delay in order execution.
Your order showing as processing doesn't guarantee it will complete. When the market opens, the system will try to execute it, but it can still fail for other reasons, like insufficient funds or price changes.
Once the transaction executes, you'll get a notification and see the change reflected in your portfolio.
