Just like with buying, there are different types of sell orders for your stocks. These are automatically defined depending on when the order is placed.
- Market sell: This order sells your stocks immediately at the current price during market hours. If it is not completed, it will remain active until 3 pm CST on the next business day. If the price does not match the one you confirmed, we will cancel it to protect your investment.
- Automatic limit sell: This lets you set a minimum price for the sale. If your price is at or below the current buying price, it executes immediately at the best price available. If not, the order stays open until the market reaches your price. You choose the validity period: 1 day (it cancels at market close if not completed) or 90 days (it cancels after that period if not completed). In both cases, your reserved funds are automatically released when it cancels.
- Scheduled sale: This order is completed when the market reopens. If the price changes by more than 5%, the sale will be canceled to protect your investment.
