Types of buy orders

Modified on:

There are different types of buy orders. These are automatically defined depending on when the order is placed.

  • Market buy: This order is executed immediately at the current market price. It will be completed at the best available price of the day during market hours. If it is not completed, it will remain active until 3 pm CST on the next business day. If the price does not match the one you confirmed, we will cancel it to protect your investment.
  • Limit buy order: This is a limit order with a set price to be executed immediately. This means the limit price is at or above the current selling price, allowing immediate execution at the best available price. The order will only be executed if the stock price is equal to or lower than the price you set. The order will remain active until 7 pm CST on the next business day. If by that time the price does not match the value you confirmed, the purchase will be canceled to protect your investment.
  • Scheduled purchase: This order is completed when the market reopens. If the price changes by more than 5%, the purchase will be canceled to protect your investment.
