Why jailbroken iOS devices are restricted on Bitso

Modified on:

A jailbroken iOS device is an iPhone or iPad that has had the restrictions Apple applies removed. This gives root access to the operating system and allows installing apps outside the official App Store.

Jailbroken devices are more vulnerable to malware, hacking, and data leaks because they lose the security protections Apple builds into the system. This puts your personal data and any app you use on the device at risk, including your Bitso account.

For this reason, Bitso does not allow account access from a jailbroken iOS device. To protect your funds and your account, this type of device falls outside the app's supported use.

You can keep using your account without any issue through the Bitso website or from a device that is not jailbroken.
