Setting up API keys on the Mint Platform

Modified on:

The Mint Platform provides a secure and streamlined process to create, manage, and delete your API keys. Follow these steps to set up your API keys with ease and confidence.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) must be enabled to create and manage API keys. If you haven’t enabled 2FA yet, refer to this article.

1. View and manage existing keys:

  • Log in to your Juno account.
  • Go to the Settings section in the bottom-left corner of the page.
  • On the Account Settings tab, select API keys to access the API setup flow.
  • On the API keys page, you’ll see a list of your active API keys. If you are a new user, this list will be empty.

2. Create an API key:

  • On the API keys page, click the Add new API key button to create a new key.
  • You will be prompted to enter the API key’s name. Choose a unique one for each key.
  • If you want to restrict the use of that key to certain IP addresses, activate the Restrict use of IP addresses button.
  • If activated, you will be prompted to add up to 5 allowed IP addresses.
  • Next, select the permissions for the key you are creating.
The permissions you can grant to each key are:
    • Create redemptions: Create MXNB redemption instructions to deposit Mexican pesos into external bank accounts.
    • Crypto withdrawals: Create MXNB withdrawals over any of the supported blockchain networks.
    • View transactions: List transaction history.
    • View balances: Check available balances for all supported stablecoins.
    • View account information: Access account details like user ID, account status, and transaction limits.
    • View funding details: Retrieve fiat and crypto funding details for deposits.
  • Finally, you can enter up to 5 withdrawal addresses where each API key will be able to send funds.
  • Once you're finished, click Add. You will be asked to enter your 2FA to continue. Once you enter the 6-digit code, you will receive your API key and API secret.
    • Note: Make sure to store them somewhere safe, as they will not be shown again.
  • Check the disclaimer box, then click Go Back to API Setup.
  • Your new API key is now active and ready for use. Enter the API key and API secret in your third-party application to enable access to your account on the Mint Platform.

You can create up to 6 API keys.

You can edit or delete keys at any time. For each of these actions, you will be asked to enter your 2FA.
