Frequently asked questions about your USD account on Bitso

Modified on:

How do I earn rewards on my USDC balance?

Bitso offers an Earnings program that lets you earn up to 4% per year for holding your USDC balance in your Bitso account. Earnings are calculated on your balance and credited directly to your account.

How do I sell my USDC for my local currency?

In the Bitso app, choose Buy/Sell, select USDC as the currency to sell and your local currency as the currency to receive. Once you confirm the transaction, you'll receive your local currency and can withdraw it to the bank account of your choice.

How much does it cost to make a USD transfer?

USD transfers you send or receive from your Bitso account are processed through Bridge, our payment provider. The fee depends on the transfer method you use, and it's the same for both deposits and withdrawals.

MethodFee
ACH$2.99 USD per transaction
Wire transfer$11.99 USD + 0.17% of the transferred amount

For example, if you send $1,000 USD by wire transfer, the fee would be $11.99 plus 0.17% of $1,000 ($1.70), for a total of $13.69.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount for depositing or withdrawing USD?

For deposits, we can't process transactions where the amount is lower than Bitso's fee for that transfer type ($2.99 USD for ACH, or $11.99 USD plus 0.17% for wire transfer). If your deposit is lower than the corresponding fee, it won't be credited to your account and can't be refunded.

For withdrawals, the minimum amount you can send is $3 USD. If the withdrawal is lower than that amount, it won't be credited to the destination account, and the amount will be charged as a fee with no possibility of refund to your Bitso account.

For deposits and withdrawals to or from your own accounts or business accounts, there's no maximum amount. For deposits and withdrawals to or from accounts in someone else's name, the maximum is $4,000 USD per transaction.

If you're working with digital assets, also check your crypto withdrawal limits on Bitso, and confirm with the receiving bank whether they apply any additional minimum or maximum amounts.

What is a micro-deposit?

A micro-deposit is a small amount of money that a US bank sends to your Bitso account to confirm that the account really is yours. This process usually happens to validate a new account's details when a new recipient is set up.

This is only a verification process: the amount sent isn't credited to your Bitso account, and Bitso doesn't charge any fee for this verification.
