To activate your USD account, your deposit needs to come from a US account, and you need to prove legal residency in Mexico or Argentina to open this account.
How to activate your USD account
- Select Send from the main screen of the Bitso app.
- Choose USD transfers to US accounts via ACH or wire.
- Open your USD account by filling in the requested information and accepting the terms and conditions.
- Once you get confirmation that your account was opened, go back to the USD Transfers section from the Send button on the main screen and tap Share account details so the sender can send you the deposit. If you're depositing from your own US account, you can copy each detail individually.
Activating your USD account is free. Activation usually takes just a few minutes, though in some cases it can take up to a day.
How to receive your deposits
Once you've activated your transfers, you can find your details under Deposit > USD Transfer. With that information, you can receive USD deposits. Once credited to your Bitso account, these deposits are automatically converted to USDC, a stable digital currency pegged to the US dollar.
What transfers and source accounts you can use
You can receive ACH or wire transfers sent from any account that supports this type of transfer, including US bank accounts and platforms like PayPal, Payoneer, Upwork, Amazon, and Apple, among others.
You can receive deposits from accounts in your own name, from other people's accounts, or from business accounts.
How this service works
Bitso partners with Bridge, a payment provider that opens and manages US accounts, automatically converts US dollars to USDC, and transfers the funds to your Bitso account. Bridge opens this account to any user who proves legal residency in Mexico or Argentina, regardless of nationality.
Didn't work? Here's what to do
If you can't activate your USD account, it's because your personal information doesn't meet Bridge's eligibility policies, our provider in charge of managing these accounts. This means one or more of the requirements to open a US account isn't met, such as proving legal residency in Mexico or Argentina. These policies help ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
