Why is my transaction under review and what can I do

Modified on:

If you were trying to withdraw funds from your Bitso account and your transaction ended up under review, don't worry. In this article we explain why this happens.

The security of your funds is our priority

Putting a transaction under review is a procedure that reinforces Bitso's commitment to the security of your account and your funds. Bitso is the first crypto-tech financial services provider in Latin America to be internationally regulated, holding a DLT license granted by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC), one of the most innovative financial regulators in the world. We operate under GFSC principles, which include secure custody of funds, strict security standards, and customer support in every country where we operate.

Why we review transactions

If your transaction is under review, it means Bitso is internally confirming that your account is secure and that the withdrawal you're trying to make meets all our security criteria.

For crypto withdrawals, review can take up to 3 hours. Verification is usually faster if the transaction was made during business hours on a business day, regardless of the withdrawal type (local currency or crypto). On weekends or international holidays like Christmas, the review process can take longer, also regardless of withdrawal type. You'll get a notification with the result on the next business day.

Will you know if your transaction was approved or denied?

If you have the app installed and notifications turned on, you'll get a push notification and an email letting you know the result. If you don't have notifications turned on, you'll still get the email. While you wait for the review, you can keep using your Bitso account normally, both in the app and on the web.

What if I want to cancel the transaction?

If you change your mind, you can cancel the transaction while it's under review. In the Bitso app, go to the Activity tab, tap the transaction under review, and select Cancel transaction. On the web, the process is the same through your Activity History.

Withdrawals can't be undone once they're approved. If you have questions, contact our support team.
