Trading on Bitso Alpha works differently from buying or selling crypto in the Bitso app. Instead of a fixed spread, Bitso Alpha charges a fee based on your trading volume and how your order interacts with the order book.
How Bitso Alpha fees work
When you place an order on Bitso Alpha, the fee percentage depends on the volume you traded in the last 30 days. It also depends on which side of the order book your operation falls on: maker, when you add liquidity to the order book, or taker, when you take liquidity from it.
Fees also vary by market and order book. You can check current fees for Bitso Alpha at any time at bitso.com/fees.
Where you can trade
You place Bitso Alpha orders on the web platform or the Bitso Alpha mobile app. The Bitso Alpha app is separate from the main Bitso app.
Order types available on Bitso Alpha
Bitso Alpha gives you more control over the price at which you buy or sell, and lets you build more advanced trading strategies through different order types. You have access to four order types:
- Market order
- Limit order
- Stop-loss order
- Stop-limit order
Each order type has its own characteristics for different trading strategies. Trading through the order book can take longer to complete than an instant buy or sell in the Bitso app.
