How to add more funds to a Crypto Strategy?

Modified on:

Once you've created a Crypto Strategy, you can add funds (buy more cryptos within the Crypto Strategy) whenever you want.

You can do it directly from your Crypto Strategy details in the bottom menu and select "Buy".

Simply enter the amount in the denomination you prefer, and it will be automatically distributed according to the percentages you have set for each crypto. This means that your Crypto Strategy will remain the same until you decide to rebalance it at some point.

You will see the new balance reflected instantly from the details of your Crypto Strategy.

If we consider the candy bag analogy once more, a purchase operation would be equivalent to buying additional candy and adding them into the bag we already own. For example, if we have 100 candies, each costing 2 USD, and the total bag costing 200 USD, we could buy 50 more candies for a sum of 100 USD. This can be represented as follows:

Type of candy Initial quantity of candies in the bag Quantity of candies purchased New quantity of candies in the bag
Cherry 48 = 96 USD (48%) 24 = 48 USD (48%)  72 = 144 USD (48%)
Mint 20 = 40 USD (20%)  10 = 20 USD (20%)  30 = 60 USD (20%)
Chocolate 20 = 40 USD (20%) 10 = 20 USD (20%) 30 = 60 USD (20%)
Lemon 10 = 20 USD (10%) 5 = 10 USD (10%) 15 = 30 USD (10%)
Cinnamon 2 = 4 USD (2%) 1 = 2 USD (2%) 3 = 6 USD (2%)
Total 100 = 200 USD 50 = 100 USD 150 = 300 USD

If we pay attention to the distribution of the candies in the original quantity and the new quantity after the purchase, we can see that there were no changes in the percentages of our composition. Hence, when adding funds to an active Crypto Strategy through a purchase, we simply allocate the predefined amount in the same percentages that we currently have, thus preventing any changes in our distribution.

But, if we wish to not only add funds into an active Crypto Strategy, but also change the percentages of each crypto, an additional step will be necessary to adjust the distribution.
