To use Bitso on a new phone or computer, you need to authorize the device first. You can do this from the Bitso app or from the website.
Before you start
- Run the authorization process on the device you want to authorize.
- Use the same internet connection the whole time. Switching networks can affect the process.
Authorize a device from the Bitso app
- Download the app and enter your login details.
- If you have two-step verification turned on with a verification app (for example, Google Authenticator or Authy), enter the code it shows. If you don't have it turned on, you'll get a code by text message.
- You'll get an email confirming the authorization request. It includes a 6-digit alphanumeric code you need to enter on the Bitso screen. Check your spam folder too.
- After entering the code, you can turn on fingerprint or biometric access, or continue without setting up a PIN.
- Once you complete this step, the device is authorized and you can use the app normally.
Authorize a device from the website
- Enter your login details at bitso.com/login.
- If you have two-step verification turned on with a verification app (for example, Google Authenticator or Authy), enter the code it shows. If you don't have it turned on, you'll get a code by text message.
- If the device is new, you'll get an email with a code you need to enter to authorize it. This email also shows the location and IP address of the device trying to log in. Check your spam folder too.
- If the device was already authorized before, for example because two-step verification is already registered on it, you won't get a new email and can continue directly.
- Once you authorize the device, you're automatically taken to your Bitso wallet.
If you don't get the email or the time runs out
If the email doesn't arrive right away, wait up to 5 minutes and check your internet connection. If you still don't get it, log in again to generate a new request.
You have 30 minutes from login to authorize the device. If that time runs out, you need to start the process again. If the problem continues, contact our support team.
