If you need to update the email address you're using in Bitso, please access your account via desktop and go through the following steps:
Step 1. On the menu in the navigation bar, select Profile:
Step 2. On the Profile section, select Security:
You'll find a section to change your email address. If you don't have your 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) activated or don't want to use it to authenticate this update on your account, you can choose whether you want to receive a 6-digit code via SMS or via WhatsApp.
Important: If you pick the WhatsApp method, the only message you're going to receive is the 6-digit code. Bitso doesn't offer financial advice via messaging apps, and no one from Bitso will contact you requesting this code.
If you receive any message on WhatsApp, Instagram, email, or another channel that looks suspicious, please report it to our Customer Support team.
If you do have your 2FA activated and want to use it, type the 6-digit code available on your 2FA device to proceed:
If you don't use the same 2FA device now that you've decided to change your email, contact us via Customer Support.
After the validation, a pop-up message will appear asking you to confirm your new email address and to type your password to validate the change.
After you select Change, you'll be ready to use your new email address to log in.
Remember: This process will happen inside the web version, without any human contact. No one from Bitso will ever reach out to you by any means to confirm your information unless you have first reached out to us and opened a ticket via our Help Center.
If you have doubts or aren't sure how to proceed with the email update, you can always contact us via Customer Support.
